How to tell a fake
A great post and you are right with all your points.
Indeed there is a new race of people surging now.... What i call intermediaries jokers, not even brokers jokers.
People who have no buyer, who are not even close to a buyer mandate, and who have no seller or seller mandate. They just copy and paste from other genuine offers to buy or sell, and add a funky procedure with no ground. They hope to secure both sides quickly and just play an intermediary. Most often it fails as they are close to no party involved.... And do not know this business.
How to spot them? I look at the posts and eliminate the ones who one day post a buy request and the day after a sell request for the same product....
As for scam, since most of them involve upfront fees, they are easy to avoid. Haven't been scammed in over 15 yrs, but indeed we are all wasting our time and sometimes can lose credibility with our end buyers or sellers.
I am mandate from buyers for some products, and sellers for others, and what i do now with the seller, what they want since they are the producers and suppliers of the product, is to have a buyers profile, and a call with the buyer upfront, hen align a NCNDA. So no SCO issued, no time wasted if the buyer can not pick up a damn phone. I think this is the way going forward. If the broker claims his buyer will not accept that, this usually means he is not direct to the buyer or the mandate, and just fish around....
And the previous post is correct for the Russian refineries and the phoney SCO or fake request....
If you want genuine offers for d2 contact me, but no time wasters. I have small recurring demands for m100 as well, and gold. So i am open, but bear in mind i like buyers and sellers to talk. I build the trust and hence merit my fee.
